Privacy and safety
Guided Drive and Talk It Out handle data differently. Here's the actual split.
Private mode
Guided Drive
Scripted drives do not turn on the microphone. Your history, profile, saved locations, settings, and one-thing record stay in browser storage on this device. Anonymous usage events may go to PostHog. If a pre-rendered voice file is missing, the prewritten prompt text may go to ElevenLabs to generate audio.
Microphone mode
Talk It Out
Microphone audio goes to Deepgram for transcription. The transcript, recent conversation, destination, and optional profile go through The Drive's server to Anthropic. Reply text goes to ElevenLabs to generate the voice.
The Drive does not maintain a conversation database. Processing providers may retain request data under their own policies. Anthropic states that standard API inputs and outputs are normally deleted within 30 days unless another arrangement or legal exception applies.
Analytics and waitlist
PostHog receives selected usage events such as drive started or completed, outcome checks, issue tags, and aggregate technical timings or provider usage counts. It does not receive conversation content, profile values, locations, or commitment text. Waitlist email addresses are submitted to Web3Forms.
Delete your data
Settings includes Delete my data. It removes The Drive's browser storage and beta session from this device and resets the anonymous analytics identity. It cannot recall requests that providers have already processed.
Safety
Set up and start the app while parked. Stop using it and pull over if driving becomes unsafe. The Drive is not emergency, medical, or mental-health care and cannot contact help for you.
In immediate danger, call local emergency services. In the United States, call or text 988 for suicide or crisis support.
